COOKWARE FAQ

Can I use your cookware on my glass/ceramic or induction stove?

Yes. Our cast iron cookware can be used on any cooking surface: gas, electric coil, glass/ceramic, induction, grill, etc. We take great care to smooth the bottom surface of our cookware to avoid damage to glass/ceramic stove tops, but as with all cookware, please be gentle when moving the skillet. Avoid sliding the skillet if possible; it’s safer to lift and set.

Is your cookware oven, grill and fire safe?

Yes. One of the best features of cast iron is that it can be safely used in or over any heat source. You can even use it for baking. Please be careful handling the cookware after removing it from a closed heat source like the oven, grill or from over the fire. It needs plenty of time to cool.

What kind of cooking utensils should I use with cast iron?

Any kind you like. You don’t have to worry about scratching cast iron with metal utensils. In fact, we recommend metal utensils. The best tool for the job seems to be a basic, old-fashioned metal spatula.

Find one with a straight, flat edge and rounded corners. The flat edge will help you get under your food, while the rounded corners will prevent any gouging.

I was hoping that a lid would become available

I was hoping that a lid would become available. It did. I love my Stargazer cast iron. It is by far the very best cast iron cookware that I have ever used. I grew up in a household that cooked with cast iron cookware that had been handed down from my grandmother , to my mother. Upon her passing, the cast iron cookware mysteriously disappeared. I was heart broken.I learned to cook on that cookware. After weeks of looking at cast iron, I discovered an ad from Stargazer . The finish on the cooking surface of the skillet made me decide to take a chance and purchase it without actually having it in my hands to examine. When I received it I decided to put it to the test and cook with it without going through a seasoning process, since it was advertised as being pre-seasoned and cook ready. To my delight it worked perfectly as advertised. It currently performs even Better than the cast iron that had been in the family for generations. I now eagerly await a lid to become available for my 10.5" Stargazer skillet. Thank You Stargazer !

I purchased a misfit lid at an incredible price

I purchased a misfit lid at an incredible price. There was an extremely minor pit that you could barely see. Stargazer’s lids already have a great price point when compared to others. I’m glad to have it and can’t wait to get one for my braiser. Thank you for a wonderful product and staying reasonably priced!

Functional lid, nice price

I’ll be honest, the regular price for the lid is a bit steep which is why I was glad to snag a misfit for one of my favorite pans. It has a slight casting mistake on the top, but fits perfectly. I have used several brands of USA cast iron, and have owned three. If you just want one piece of cast iron you really can’t go wrong with the 12” Stargazer.
